What is the TOEFL iBT test?
TOEFL iBT is the abbreviation for TOEFL Internet Based Test. So, the TOEFL iBT lasts approximately 4,5 hours. It examines your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. The test contains speaking, listening and writing section. Speaking section is a recent innovation. It includes independent and integrated tasks. Students are allowed to take notes throughout the entire test.
In the Listening section students are to answer questions. The main task of them is to measure the understanding of attitude, degree of certainty, and purpose of spoken texts.
In the Reading section students are to answer questions to categorize information and fill in a chart or complete a summary.
In the Writing section students are to type on computer. It also involves an integrated task in addition to independent tasks.

Is the new test really different?
The TOEFL iBT test is definitely different. Now the test uses a new approach. For the first time, the TOEFL test will assess the ability to deliver comprehensive English skills and to communicate about what you read and hear.
Is the internet-based test more difficult?
In comparison with the TOEFL PBT test the iBT Reading and Listening sections are not dramatically different. But the integrated tasks in Speaking and Writing sections may seem more challenging because they are new in iBT test. However, to be successful in English-speaking colleges and universities, students have to show the ability to integrate their language skills in the classroom. The integrated tasks will help learners feel themselves more confident about communication in the academic environments they plan to enter.
When will the TOEFL iBT be introduced in my country?
The TOEFL iBT test is available in many cities of the countries. You can acquaint with a list of TOEFL iBT locations and dates through the Internet. On this site you can get some useful information. Centers in some countries are not ready yet to introduce the test, so dates for some countries are not yet set.
What is the TOEFL PBT test?
PBT means Paper Based Test. TOEFL PBT is taken 6 times a year at test centers where Internet Based Test is not available. This test contains exercises in listening, structure (grammar), reading and writing. Fulfilling a test takes approximately 3,5 hours. The test mostly consists of multiple-choice questions and a 30 minutes essay.
How much longer will TOEFL PBT testing be available in my country?
